So yesterday was shrove Tuesday! And me and my partner made some yummy pancakes, seeing as we looking forward to our holiday to Disney. We bought a little Disney to us by making Mickey and Minnie mouse pancakes.
We drizzled some maple syrup over these after the photo was taken and they were lovely! So now that Shrove Tuesday has been and gone it's now Lent... So what is Lent? Basically in a nutshell lent is 40 days before Easter in the Christian Calender.
Traditionally Christians treat Lent as a period of reflection, marked by fasting from food and festivities, ahead of Easter. It replicates the time when Jesus Christ withdrew into the desert for 40 days ahead of his crucifixion and subsequent resurrection, which is celebrated on Easter Sunday.
Today, few people fast for the entire period and it has become more common to use Lent as an an opportunity to give up a vice such as alcohol or cigarettes, or a favourite food.
So what will you be giving up for Lent? I'm going to try and give up all naughty foods such as crisps, chocolate and not have as many take aways.
Anyway enough about Shrove Tuesday and Lent, I'm finally off night shifts and back on to day shift for three weeks. So i'm no longer walking around like a zombie from The Walking Dead! So this means I've had time to go into town and buy a few bits and bobs, I find my town not that good clothes wise but always find some good nail varnishes from the local boots and superdrug! So this means I've had time to go into town and buy a few bits and bobs, I find my town not that good clothes wise but always find some good nail varnishes from the local boots and superdrug! I bought three new nail varnishes the other day from Barry M...
First of all this Barry M Pomegranate. |
From Barry M's New collection of Speedy, which Is a quick dry nail polish. The first colour I bought was road rage which is a pastel colour. |
Finally the last one I bought was another new one from Barry M's new speedy collection Eat My Dust. Another pastel colour and looks lovely on! |
I've only tried two of these nail varnishes which were Eat My Dust and Pomegranate, which I have to say both have sleek and smooth application and yet again Barry M fail to disappoint me! You'll find that most of my nail varnish collection is mostly Barry M varnishes. I tend to find that when applied they last, and have a really good application and Barry M has such a vast amount of colours to buy!
So I've bought some more holiday clothes a few vest tops, it's 253 day until we go and a couple of months until the park hours are released. I'm not one to normally wish away time but I definitely hope this year whizzes by! That's all I have to blog about right not so until next time...
