Giving Life

So yesterday I went for the first time to give blood. Anyone that know's me will know I
hate needles!

Before giving blood I texted my cousin a regular in giving blood asked how long the process took. She tried to talk me out of donating down to the fact of my phobia, this made me more determined to give. So off I went walking down my road to the local blood donation centre. Seeing all the needles and blood did make me a tad nervous, but I was determined not to let it get the better of me.

I have to admit sat in the waiting room drinking my cup of water, waiting for my name to be called I was nervous and I could of easily walked out. However I knew that donating would help someone!
5 minutes passed and my name was called, I went into a little booth where they asked me some questions. Then came the part where they prick your finger and check your haemoglobin levels,  after that I went and sat in another booth waiting for name to be called. What was another 5 minutes felt like an hour!! Finally my name was called and I was sat in the chair, no turning back now!
I was tilted back and had my arm checked for a good vein to take from, it wasn't to hard to find. I had my arm cleaned and then came the worst the insertion of the needle. I looked away, if i'm honest I was expecting more pain. I sat there for a whole 7 minutes, fascinated in the whole process.

The machine made a funny noise as if I'd won something on the fruit machine, and that was it. The needle was taken out and I was done, I went and enjoyed an iced water and some biscuits. Then walked home.

Moral of the story, don't let your phobia's hold you back. Donate blood and save a life!

Glastonbury Festival

So festival season is soon approaching in the United Kingdom, which means Glastonbury Festival will soon be upon us. Over this weekend I've been seeing plenty of stories of celebrities at Coachella, one year I will make it out there it's my absolute dream! Seeing the press go on about Coachella has bought me to this post...

This year it will be my fifth Glastonbury, after much deliberation and if'ing and am'ing. Me and Jim Jam decided to go and seeing as we'll have company this year it makes it better. So for you those who don't know what Glastonbury Festival is, it's a five day music festival that takes place near Pilton, Somerset.

To me and many other Glastonbury Festival goer's Glastonbury isn't about who's headlining, to me Glastonbury Is where I go to enjoy myself chill out and explore. Find new music and loose myself in the festival atmosphere, I don't care whether i'm knee deep in mud or catching the sun. Each year of Glastonbury I always find myself to enjoy something different, last year I spent most of my time in the theatre and circus field. Why? Because there was so much going on and because I wasn't there just for the music. This year I've seen so many people complaining about Kanye West headlining Saturday night some people have gone as far as signing a petition. I'll admit yes Glastonbury has changed but it's evolving and appealing to everyone.

So if you're thinking about going Glastonbury, I'd recommend it. You will love it!
As Glastonbury approaches soon i'll do a what to pack and what's in my bag blog and possible a youtube video. So keep your eye's peeled! And remember it's not all about the headlining acts!

Good Friday!

So today is good Friday so that in England is a bank holiday! So me and Jim Jam had today off work together, so we spent some time together. First off we went for breakfast, then we went back home and went to bake cookies and cake. So originally I planned to bake a cake, all was going fine and dandy until the cake didn't rise! Bye bye cake plan..

So seeing as my cake didn't rise I made a new batch of cake mix instead of baking a cake I made rainbow buns! It took me less time to make the buns than it did the cake... I used:
♥ 125g Unsalted Butter
♥125g Caster Sugar
♥ 2 Medium Eggs
♥ 125g Self Raising Flour
♥ 2 drops of food colouring (I used 5 different colours)

I put the buns on for 25 minutes gas mark 4...Whilst waiting Jim Jam made cookies.

So there you have it Mary Berry eat your heart out! I took some buns up to my nana's and she said they were delightful. I did add some butter cream to them and put some jam in the middle. you can see the final product on my Instagram: https://instagram.com/nataliechantelle93/

I'm back to work tomorrow so I won't be posting for a few days. But I hope you all have a lovely Easter!

Hello April

Welcome April, I can't believe it's April already but having you here makes me happy it brings slightly warmer weather and lighter evenings!

I love April, not just because of the slightly warmer weather and the lighter evenings because everyone seems to be a little happier and have a spring in their step. I also love all the beautiful flowers blossoming and the little lambs, which I get to see frequently having the beautiful countryside on my doorstep.  April also means it's two months from Glastonbury Festival, which I'm looking forward to this year. As me and Jim Jam will be going with company this year, who we've been with before and thoroughly enjoyed their company!

It's also been payday!! So this month I did go to go buy and some new clothes for Holiday, but as I'm changing my lifestyle I'm losing weight, so when I went to try on clothes in the store I just had a thought... Am I going to be this clothes size in 6 months? The answer most likely not. So instead of wasting money on clothes that i'll wear for a couple of months, I bought myself some pretty bedding!

At the minute I'm having serious holiday blues and I just keeping looking through old photo's, however with having holiday blue's it's making me look forward to all the things I want to do this year! I have made myself a little to do list whilst i'm in Orlando, hopefully I can tick all of these off!

So April, I hope you are good to us. I'd like a little more sunshine and beautiful flowers.
